This Fall the Rams start a new chapter in prep athletics departing from the 2A/3A Seamount League and some rivalries to enter the South Puget Sound League 4A and renew old rivalries from the 1970's with the Kent, Auburn and Federal Way schools. Mt. Rainier will be the only Highline District school competing in the SPSL.

There will be a few changes with the new league. Boys Tennis will move to the fall and Boys and Girls Golf will be separated (while one team home the other is away). All else is basically the same.

Some important dates to remember:

• Wednesday, August 17th is the first day of football practice
• Cross Country (Co-ed), boy's tennis, girls volleyball, girls swim & dive, girls soccer begin Monday, August 22nd.
• Golf begins Wednesday, August 24th

The practice schedules for Volleyball, Golf, Football and Girls Swim will be posted on the school website as soon as they are available.

Athletes must be cleared in the bookkeeping office BEFORE participating in practice.

Sports Clearances Begin August 16th:

Athletes must turn in all forms to Bookkeeping and pay ASB & Activity Fee before being able to practice/tryout (fines should be paid or cleared before practicing). Best time to bring in paperwork is early morning Aug 16 - 19.

FALL SPORTS FORMS ARE AVAILABLE:

• Forms Needed: Complete the following forms online forms, print and submit with fees: Activity Participation Form, Sports Emergency Card, Concussion Form, Specific Sport Safety Guidelines Form & Obey Instructions Form. No sports forms are available at school.
• 2010-2011 Sports Fees: ASB $40.00 (non-refundable)
• Activity Fee: $50.00 (Reduced fee of $25.00 with proof of Free/Reduced qualification). Activity Fee is refundable if an athlete does not make the team or quits within two weeks of beginning of season.
