The School of Global & Environmental Studies
Our Vision: The School of Global & Environmental Studies is an integrated program designed to encourage life-long learning and prepare students to be contributing citizens of a world community.

Our Goals:

  • Promote student accountability
  • Provide a personal education plan for each student
  • Increase parent involvement
  • Develop a range of curriculum opportunities and modes of teaching
  • Provide every student with access to multiple forms of technology for skill development

Students attending The School of Global and Environmental Studies (GES) can expect to discover with other students who are interested in the environment and cultures of the world.

  • Do you want the world to be your counselor?
Join GES and experience just that. Our three-acre outdoor classroom provides hands-on learning opportunities.
  • Are you interested in foreign cultures and countries?
GES students study the history, literature, and language of different world cultures in interesting and interactive ways.
  • Do you have what it takes to be a leader?
Past GES students have learned what it takes to be part of a team while at Camp Waskowitz and other GES activities and events.

With strong connections to Camp Waskowitz, Puget Sound Skills Center Marine Technology, a Spanish/Cultural Studies requirement, and an internationally-minded staff, GES students gain leadership and other valuable personal skills.

A Day in the Life of a Student at The School of Global & Environmental Studies:

  • 9:30 - 10:25 Social Studies — We study history, culture, and geography and how they impact us in the modern world.
  • 10:30 - 11:25 Info Technology — In this class we learn the various computer applications and how they can help us in our other classes. This class also helps us with our 4Ps.

  • 12:10 - 1:05 Math — Depending on our math level, we study Algebra I, Geometry, or Algebra II.
